A community resources guide is a list of organizations and places within the community context where members can go to receive support and services. These resources go beyond what any one place can provide to offering support in a variety of ways (i.e. social support, clinics, and support groups).
Create your own guide that clients can use to find out what kind of supports are available in your community. Some of the best resources to add include other organizations that your organization has experience working with. It's important to vet each resource to ensure the services it provides are affirming and to keep the list up to date. Below are some examples of guides created at UCSF in our local community.
Sample Guides:
- San Francisco and Bay Area Community Resources Guide
- San Francisco Bay Area Trans Resource Guide via The Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, University California San Francisco (UCSF).
